Whenever I have periods of self doubt I always reflect on the fact that I was one of the less than 10% that completed training and got my Dolphins - The thought always seems to perk me up! Able to return in 1985, but no more guzzunders! Had a great 40 years in the RN/RAN and retirement in 2005 left a huge hole in my life. Met some great people in the Squadron and the Fleet, and had some great postings ('cept Comms School. Weirdest memory - Cactus Klease dry retching after watching the Coxn lancing a boil on Wally Ware's back. Saddest memories - finding Steve Booth after taking his own life and the passing of Mickey Pearce with whom I shared much of my career; we had our first ever sea posting together - HMS Mohawk.
